16 days of Honeymoon around Vietnam

Another exclusive from Routes Vietnam: Honeymoon for 16 days around the Country of the Ascending Dragon. This tour will take you from the myriad of waterways that make up the Mekong Delta, to the colourful hill-tribe villages scattered around the old French hill station of Sapa. Ending with some well-deserved beach time on Nha Trang's white sands. Please bare in mind that this is only an example itinerary. Our aim at Routes Vietnam is to make your honeymoon a perfect experience. Any preferences or alterations can easily be incorporated into your trip.

DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO HO CHI MINH
Our driver and our personnel will be waiting for you at the NoiBai airport of Hanoi to transfer you to your hotel. This first day, we will have prepared for you a welcoming dinner. Before boarding on the Bonsai Cruise, we will take you to watch the Water Puppetry spectacle, and a Xiclo tour around the city and at around 19:00, the dinner will be ready  and you will able to contemplate the city in a different perspective.
Depending on the time of your arrival, we can delay this tour to the next day.
You will spend the night in the suite of the Saigon Nikko Hotel. 

DAY 2: VISITING THE MEKONG DELTA: CAI BE – VINH LONG
(Breakfast and Lunch)

Cai Be is located 136km away from Ho Chi Minh. To be able to watch the Markets of Cai Be and Vinh Long, we will have to wake up early and the tour with start at around 06:00. From Ho Chi Minh it’s a journey of around two hours and a half to get to Vinh Long. There you will take a boat that will take you through the canals of the Mekong Delta. You will visit the fruit market of Cai Be. Have lunch in a quiet place in the Mekong Delta, surrounded by greenery and gardens. In Cai Be and Vinh Long around will also make a boat tour, visit local families to get an idea of their day to day lives and after seeing Thoi Son head back to My Tho by boat to retake the route back to Ho Chi Minh.
Around 15:00 there will be a car or bus to take you back to Ho chi minh
You will spend the night in the suite of the Saigon Nikko Hotel. 

DAY 3: CU CHI TUNNELS AND THE CAO DAI TEMPLE
(Breakfast and Lunch)

At around 7:30 in the morning, the bus will be waiting for you at the hotel to take you to Tay Ninh, where the Great Cao Dai Temple and the Cao Dai religion central (one of the most particular religions originated from Vietnam) is located. It’s one of the most emblematic buildings of Asia. It’s a fusion between Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism.
Upon our return to the city of Ho Chi Minh, we will stop to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, and you will be able to learn how the Vietcong managed to fight the war. We will be able to see the underground network that they built, a network worthy to be studied by architects.
You will spend the night in the suite of the Saigon Nikko Hotel. 
 
DAY 4: HO CHI MINH – DA NANG – FLIGHT TO HOI AN
(Breakfast)
At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel to transfer you to the airport to take the flight to Danang. Once in Danang, we will take you to your hotel in Hoi An
You will spend the night in the Vinh Hung Resort in Hoi An 

DAY 5: FREE DAY IN HOI AN
(Breakfast)
We leave this day for you to freely explore the city of Hoi An, so you can enjoy this wonderful place at your pace. Apart from its deep history, it’s also famous for its tailors and shoemakers; you can take this chance to do some shopping. It’s a small and nice town with many restaurants and charming corners.
Renting a bicycle to stroll around Hoi An would also be a nice idea; you can rent one to explore Hoi An in the morning and in the afternoon, you can enjoy the beach.
You will spend the night in the Vinh Hung Resort in Hoi An 

DAY 6: HOI AN - HUE
(Breakfast)
Today we will leave Hoi An for Hue. We will pass through the Lang Co beach and the Marble Mountains. It’s a route for sceneries and photo taking of approximately 150km; it’d be worth it to make this trip by private car, which we has already included for this travel, so you can make it at your own pace and make all the stops that you want.
Once you have arrived to Hue, we will transfer you to the Ana Mandara Hotel.
Overnight stay in Hue 

DAY 7: HUE CITY TOUR AND FLIGHT TO HANOI
(Breakfast and Lunch)

We will pick you up at around 08:00 am then we will begin the city tour for you to learn about the origin of Vietnam: the tour begins with a visit to the Minh Mang and Khai Dinh Tombs, then we will witness the Vietnamese martial art, Van An. Then we will visit the local villages which specialized themselves into making incenses and the conical hats of Vietnam. The morning journey will end with the visit to the Tomb of Tu Duc.
After lunch, we will leave to visit the Hue’s Citadel and the Thien Mu’s Pagoda. And to add the final brush to this excursion, we will return to Hue for a boat trip on the Perfume River while contemplating the sunset.
We will be back at around 17:00 pm; at the scheduled time, we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Hanoi. Once in Hanoi, we will take you to your hotel in the center of the city.

DAY 8: HANOI – HALONG BAY TOUR IN THE EMOTION CRUISE’S SUITE
(Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Around 07:30am our cruise guide will come by your hotel to accompany you to the bus which will take you to Halong. It’d then be a four hours trip toward the Tuan Chau quay. Once in the quay, we will board the cruise, where they will give you a warm welcoming. After the checking process, your lunch will be ready.
Approximately 14:30pm we will have reached the Surprise cave and you will be able to explore this beautiful cave, accompanied by our guide. You can climb to the top and contemplate this amazing scenery of the Bay. Afterward we will continue to visit the Bay, the cruise will dock in Dong Tien and then it’d be time for dinner.
There will be time for fishing, resting and to enjoy the magic of the night in the middle of the Halong Bay.
Overnight stay on the Halong Emotion Cruise 

DAY 9: HALONG BAY – HANOI – NIGHT TRAIN TO LAO CAI
(Breakfast and Lunch)
The early risers will have the chance to witness the sunrise in the Halong Bay and practice Tai Chi on the deck. Breakfast will be ready in the dining room. After breakfast there will be time to visit some of the fishing villages where they will also show you the elaboration of the pearls. Then we will head back to Halong; get back on the bus which would take you back to Hanoi. Approximately 17:00pm, you will be in Hanoi.
Once in Hanoi, we will transfer you to your hotel to pick up your luggage and at the scheduled time, our driver will take you to the train station for your 19:30pm night train to Lao Cai – Sapa
You will spend the night in the private cabin of the Victoria Express 

DAY 10: SAPA VISIT
(Breakfast and Lunch)

After spending the night on the night train, you will have reached to Lao Cai at around 06:30am. The bus will be waiting to transfer you to Sapa. In Sapa, they will take you to your hotel for breakfast and regain strength. We won’t be checking in yet, but we will leave the luggage at the hotel. Soon afterward, we will start to discover this beautiful part of Vietnam.
At around 09:00am we will begin to trek around Lao Chai and the villages of Ta Van. It’d be a 7km trek which will be around 2, 3 hours of walking spreading out from 09:00am to 15:00pm.
In this descent to the villages, we will be able to watch the H’Mong ethnic in their daily life. It’d be a trekking to view all the impressive sceneries. We will have lunch in the village of the H’Mong. After lunch we will visit the Ta Van village, the town of the Dzay (minority ethnic).
After this visit we will go back to the main road to return to Sapa by car. We will be back to Sapa at around 15:00pm; after checking in to your hotel, you will have the rest of the day free to explore the town.

DAY 11: CAT CAT – SAPA - HANOI
(Breakfast and Lunch)
We will pick you up at the hotel at around 08:30am. Today we will be visiting Cat Cat to meet the tribe of the H’Mong. And in the afternoon, we will head for Ta Phin to visit the home of the Dao, and then we will be back to the market of Sapa. At the scheduled time we will transfer you back to Lao Cai to take the night train to Hanoi.
You will spend the night in the private cabin of the Victoria Express 

DAY 12: ARRIVAL TO HANOI – HANOI CITY TOUR
(Breakfast and Lunch)

Upon your arrival to the train station of Hanoi, our chauffer will take you to a hotel for breakfast, shower and rest, and around 08:00am we will start the city tour. We will make the first stop to visit the Ho Chi Minh complex which includes a visit to the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, the Presidential Palace, the Ho Chi Minh museum and the stilt house where Ho Chi Minh lived for some periods between the 1958 and 1969. We will also visit the One Pillar Pagoda, the emblematic symbol of Hanoi. Afterward, we will head for the Literature Temple, the first University of Vietnam. After this cultural tour, we will have time to rest and have lunch in a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will head for the West Lake to visit the Tran Quoc Pagoda following by the visit to the Ethnology Museum, and the Hoan Kiem Lake (the Sword Restoration Lake). And lastly, we will visit the Ngoc Son Temple.
*Tuesdays, Thursday, Saturdays and Sundays we will visit the Ethnology Museum. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays we will visit Bat Trang, famous for their ceramic works.
You will spend the night in the Luxury Suite of the Golden Silk Hotel 

DAY 13: HANOI – FLIGHT TO NHA TRANG

In the morning we will transfer you to the airport of Noi Bai for you to take your flight to Nha Trang, then you will have the rest of the day in the beach of Nha Trang.
You will spend the night in the Sheraton Hotel in Nha Trang 

DAY 14: FREE DAY IN NHA TRANG
(Breakfast)
Today you will have the whole day to enjoy the beach and the sun in Nha Trang
You will spend the night in the Sheraton Hotel in Nha Trang 

DAY 15: FREE DAY IN NHA TRANG
(Breakfast)
You will have another day in Nha Trang to freely explore the city of Nha Trang and its beaches.
You will spend the night in the Sheraton Hotel in Nha Trang 

DAY 16: NHA TRANG – FLIGHT TO HO CHI MINH - HOME
(Breakfast)
At the scheduled time, we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Saigon, and once in Saigon you will link it with your international flight home.
